When You’re Not Around

Woke up this morning, just another day
Suddenly I remembered that you were away

Made a pot of coffee, a cup for me and you
Should I pour out the extra or have myself the two

I remembered to turn the lights off as I headed out the door
But I forgot my umbrella and it's starting to pour

I thought of something funny as I got in my car
I hope I remember to tell you, but tomorrow seems so far

I know it's only for a few days
But you know, I always feel this way when you're gone

Solitaire isn't fun
 Rummy ain't for one
 The apartment seems so loud
 When you're not around

Miles and miles of traffic, an hour on the highway
Suddenly I'm reminded that you are away

Turned on the radio, our song is on the air
Singing to the dashboard, people begin to stare

Thinking about the time we met, the times we laughed, the times we cried
Thinking about the day we wed, forever at your side

Remembering when we danced all night, under the stars
I think I missed my exit, another hour in the car

I know it's only for a few days
But you know, I always feel this way when you're gone

Solitaire isn't fun
 Rummy ain't for one
 The apartment seems so loud
 When you're not around
